Make-A-Wish Vermont Announces New Board Members

Make-A-Wish Vermont welcomes six new members to Board of Directors in 2018.
Make-A-Wish Vermont welcomed the appointment of new members of its Board of Directors for 2018. Joining the Board of Directors are Julie Dale, owner of the Law Office of Julie Dale, Jean Giard, President & CEO of Vermont Federal Credit Union, Patti Komline, CEO of Komline Consulting, Ken Thompson, Vice President, Human Resources for Keurig Dr Pepper, and Phil Trabulsy, Alumnus, Past Assistant Professor, University of Vermont College of Medicine.

Jean GiardJean Giard, President and CEO of Vermont Federal Credit Union (VTFCU), was initially introduced to Make-A-Wish Vermont by VTFCU’s sponsorship of wish kid Asher’s wish for a backyard pool. “I am honored to join Make-A-Wish Vermont as a member of the Board. This organization has touched the lives of so many Vermonters by making dreams come true through the power of generosity and community. I look forward to supporting Make-A-Wish Vermont in their mission to deliver life-changing experiences to wish kids across the state.”

Patti KomlinePatti Komline has been a Vermont state legislator for twelve years and completed her last term two years ago to open a government and community relations firm, Komline Consulting, LLC. "One of my favorite quotes is, ‘A wish without a plan is just a dream’. Make-A-Wish Vermont's team makes dreams come true every day and I'm honored that I will play a role in their noble mission. I cannot think of anything more worthy of effort than providing some joy and hope to our community's families. I'm very excited to get started.”

Julie DaleJulie Dale states, “I am very excited to be rejoining the MAW board to help enable more Vermont children with illnesses to bring their one true wish to fruition.”

Ken ThompsonKenneth Thompson, also a returning Board member, shares that he is “…honored to be rejoining the Make-A-Wish Vermont Chapter Board of Directors. My previous six years serving this organization was a humbling and rewarding experience, and I hope to continue to support the organization's mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.”

Phil TrabulsyPhil Trabulsy is the father of wish kid Abe, whose wish for a Martin guitar was granted last September with the help of Grace Potter. “Years before my own son became a wish kid I volunteered for Make-A-Wish. Now that I have seen the power of a wish on my own family, my commitment to the organization’s mission is even stronger.”

Brian LefflerChairman of the Board for Make-A-Wish Vermont, Brian Leffler, says, “As Make-A-Wish Vermont enters its 30th year, we are serving more kids than ever in every part of the state. A strong and dedicated Board is necessary to continue that success. We are so fortunate to have this talented group joining us to bring the magic of Make-A-Wish to every eligible child in Vermont.”
