Make-A-Wish Vermont – along with the 61 other Make-A-Wish chapters in the U.S. and its territories – will receive funds from the program to help grant unforgettable wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions in the local community.
From Nov. 17, 2016, until Jan. 3, 2017, Subaru donated $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to the customer’s choice of one of four participating national charities, including Make-A-Wish. In addition, each Subaru retailer selected a hometown charity from their local community in which customers could direct their support. Subaru recently announced that the 2016 Share the Love Event generated more than $24 million in donations to national and local charities, and Make-A-Wish will receive more than $3.5 million from Subaru and its retailers.
This year marks the sixth consecutive Share the Love Event in which Make-A-Wish has been a national non-profit participant and the largest donation Make-A-Wish has received from Subaru and its retailers by nearly $500,000. Make-A-Wish Vermont will use these funds to grant more wishes than ever before for seriously ill children who live in the chapter’s territory.
Since the Share the Love Event began in 2008, Subaru and its retailers have donated more than $94 million to a host of national and local charities. With the most recent donation included, Make-A-Wish has received more than $12.5 million throughout the life of the campaign.
