Employment Opportunity: Development & Communications Manager

Make-A-Wish Vermont, the nonprofit organization that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, is seeking a Development & Communications Manager to work in our Burlington headquarters.
The Development & Communications Manager is responsible for leading the external relations efforts for Make-A-Wish Vermont, primarily overseeing all areas of development including planning, coordination, implementation and management of all fundraising activities. Your duties will also include strategic communications on a statewide level in order to drive donor engagement and resource acquisition goals. You will manage all aspects of donor relations including identifying, cultivating and stewarding both new and prospective supporters. Finally, you will research and write grant proposals, manage a growing planned giving program and maintain accurate constituent records.

Working closely in conjunction with, and reporting to, the Make-A-Wish Vermont President & CEO, you will be tasked annually with creating and maintaining a strategic plan for development for the Foundation.

You will work as part of team, motivating both the chapter Board and staff and leading the charge for organization-wide fundraising, community relations and communications initiatives.

This is a full time (40 hours per week) exempt status position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, as well as in-state and occasional national travel.
